Corporate Consultant, Executive Coach, Pilates Instructor, NASM Personal Trainer, Health & Nutrition Coach.
Rachel Rettman is a Certified Pilates Instructor, personal trainer, nutrition consultant, and dedicated wellness entrepreneur. After receiving a BA in Psychology from Boston University, an MBA from Georgetown University and working for companies including UBS, Levi Strauss and Co., Starbucks, and Barclays Global Investors, Rachel was rear-ended in a 2007 car accident that opened her eyes to the importance of incorporating sustainable, long-term health and fitness activities into one’s life. She discovered that her 7 previous years of Pilates and fitness experience were a foundation on which to build her skills as a knowledgeable and dedicated instructor and motivator with the expertise to effectively train a variety of clients, both injured and fully functional. She began her teacher training in Los Angeles in early 2008 and was certified through the prestigious Body Arts and Science International (BASI) comprehensive Pilates teacher training program at the start of 2009.
Her combination of business experience, education, functional training, nutrition planning, and personal experience dealing with chronic injuries (and the challenges inherent in creating work/life balance) allow Rachel unique insight into the wellness needs of modern, busy people; this includes online training, coaching, and group classes in addition to primarily one-on-one sessions and consulting. She currently trains clients, creates corporate wellness programs and individualized health and nutrition strategic plans in New York City; she previously trained and taught in Portland, OR, Pacific Palisades and West Hollywood, CA. Rachel has local as well as national clients, including instructing at Nike World Headquarters campus in Portland, OR as well as guest teaching at the world-renowned Amanyara Resort in Turks and Caicos.
In addition to being a proud BASI Pilates instructor, Rachel is also a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutritionist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She has a wealth of experience helping individuals and companies / organizations to incorporate healthy habits into daily life. Alongside other expert coaches, Rachel creates employer-provided work-site wellness programming and is dedicated to integrating manageable, executable health tools and techniques into everyday life. Corporate services include comprehensive functional fitness, nutrition and holistic health programming for small-medium companies as well as workshops, corporate retreat events, and wellness challenges for large and small companies.
Rachel has experience working with both men and women, seasoned athletes and novices, and injuries; she truly enjoys helping people to achieve their wellness goals. It is never too late to get healthy!!
